Tshepo Kgoloane is Bokamoso Solar project’s Community Operations Manager, charged with leading the programmes that build social and economic resilience within communities closest to the plant. His role is to provide strategic guidance and support for the local officers and ensure that community development projects are effectively implemented.
He is particularly passionate about youth development and education, and views the Bokamoso Solar youth programme as a way for the region to produce future leaders, which will help uplift the surrounding communities of Matlosana and Maquassi Hill.
“Community Development and addressing challenges faced by communities is my passion. I am most excited about the impact of our Youth Development and Early Childhood Development programmes in our surrounding communities, as these initiatives can help drive positive change for this generation and the future of the region,” said Tshepo Kgoloane.
Kgoloane, who previously managed, coordinated and monitored projects from conceptualization to close out phase, added “The experience, methodology and networks that I bring to Bokamoso Solar will no doubt benefit the communities that we serve”.
Bokamoso Solar’s Socio-Economic Development programme is focused on education, youth development, health, food security, enterprise development and welfare. The initiatives have been chosen following research and engagement to ensure that they are well informed and will strengthen the beneficiary communities. Additionally, Enterprise Development initiatives will aim to build resilience and accelerate the growth and success of entrepreneurial businesses, to create opportunities for the economic participation of previously disadvantaged groups.
